I was commissioned to create a series of portraits of artists for Eurostar's Metropolitan magazine to be used in an infographic style layout. The art director wanted a Julien Opie like style that was clean and graphic. It was challenging (but in a fun way) distilling the artists faces to just a few simple lines while still retaining the likenesses. I also created a few icons for the infographic that showed the links between the artists (whether they're in a relationship, had been in a relationship, were collaborating etc). Rather a tight knit bunch as you can see!
I was commissioned to illustrate a cover for TransAsia airlines inflight magazine. The brief was gift giving and they wanted something clean and contemporary.
I was commissioned to create an imaginary zoo for Germanwings airlines magazine. The zoo is made up of multiple animal parks featured around Europe along with some animals portraits to accompany fun facts.
These portraits were created as little spot illustration for ROME, a book by the Caldesi's, published by Hardie Grant.
I was commissioned to create this infographic for Flight Centre Australia's magazine. The aim was to lead people to the cruise holiday that's best for them.
I was commissioned to help on a pitch Project People were working on for phone provider 3. They had some business statements they wanted to get across in a creative way and present as the cover of their pitch document. The strength of their business is their people and after a few sketches the pixel people were born.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was filmed in the UAE and the clever team at Thomas Cook Travel magazine commissioned me illustrate Star Wars characters and ships into photography of the location. Star Wars was big in the Murray household when I was younger so this brief was pretty exciting to get!
These three pages were section openers for a magazine pitch I worked on. We needed a simple graphic approach that presented the products in a creative way while still making sure they were the hero on the page.
These three spot illustrations were created for Ryanair Let's Go magazine to feature in the upfront section of the mag which highlighted quirky news stories from around Europe.
Talented author and writer Lucille Howe commissioned me to illustrate an ebook cover for her novel Bondi Blonde. A lot of fun to create.
Some examples of graphics created for New Zealand clothing brand Huffer.
